Camera's of the Paparazzi

So you want to be a Paparazzi photographer. The first and most important piece of equipment you need is a camera and lens. Today, to be competitive you need good quality professional equipment. That means there are really only two brands of cameras that everyone uses.

All Paparazzi photographers either use Canon or Nikon digital cameras. Nothing else. Film cameras are out. This business is so faced paced that by the time you process your film, scan it into the computer and then send it to a magazine you have lost the sale. Your competition has beat you out of a sale with their digital camera.

There are only two cameras from Canon and two from Nikon that you should look at. Depending on your finances Canon has the top of the line Canon 1D Mark II or the Canon 20D. The Mark II sells for $4,500. The Canon 20 D sells for $1,500. Most top of the line Paparazzi's use the Mark II.

In the Nikon Line the camera of choice is the Nikon D2X which sells for about $5,000 or the D70 which sells for $1,500.

The US Paparazzi tend to use Canon and the British Paparazzi tend to use Nikon.

For a beginning Paparazzo the Canon 20D is perfect. Now, you need to add a few lenses. For the Canon the best lens to start is the 28-300mm pro lens. It is new a little expensive at about $2.400 but it covers most of the shooting situations you would need. For a little longer lens to shoot on the beach of from a greater distance there is Canon's 100-400mm lens which most Paparazzi own. For close range a 17-35mm lens is ideal.

Get this equipment, learn how to use it move to LA or NY and you will be able to start your career in Paparazzi photography.

Just remember to learn how to take insults like, "Get a life" (Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, and most of the celebrities in LA) or "Why can't you be human and not so hurtful" (Renee Zellweger) and you can start making those mega bucks everyone always talks about!
